Baroque Inspiration (Dolce and Gabbana)

Once again Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana draw inspiration from Sicily in a coherent and winning way: of course, starting with the classic soundtracks interpreted by Pavarotti. For the Autumn Winter 2012-13, the designer duo proposes a very romantic baroque comprised of laces and golden embroidery that bring to mind damasked tapestries or eighteenth-century frames, followed by marvelous prints – like frescos – of flowers, cupids, and angels. On show are women that are the incredibly enchanting protagonists of a forgotten splendor, prima donnas of a new Versailles.
