Providing the inspiration for the S/S13 Gucci collection by Frida Giannini are the historic photos of the 60’s shot by Richard Avedon and Gian Paolo Barbieri. Portraits of aristocratic ladies, elegant in their purity, like Marella Agnelli, Marisa Berenson, Benedetta Barzini and Gloria Vanderbilt. The models flaunted column dresses characterized by neat lines, long-line tunics teamed with sleek pants and evening frocks accessorized with statement jewellery. Giannini re-interpreted the style of the period between the end of 60’s/beggining of the 70’s adding unexpected sensuality and rigorous precision. The overall result is as always striking.
